Important Notes:
- Google Directions often routes vehicles onto gravel roads unsuitable for RVs. Please plan your route ahead of time.
- We are a mountain-top campground so we can only accommodate pull-behind campers 28 feet or less (not including truck length) and RVs 28 feet or less due to the curvy roads. Certain sites are suitable only for trailers shorter than 28 feet. See RV Site details for more details on the capacity of each site.
- You will lose cell service roughly 30 minutes before arriving at the campground so make sure to print or save directions on your phone.
- The image below shows our recommended routes to the Campground in blue and routes to avoid in red.
Routes to Avoid:
- Don’t turn off of Rt 91 in Tennessee onto Dollarsville Rd. as this is a small gravel road.
- 726 through Green Cove and Taylor’s valley is a gravel road.
- Dolinger road (753) is a gravel road.
- 1361 approaching the campground from the South is partially gravel.
Good Route from the North, East & West:
- Take I-81 to the Chilhowie Exit. (Exit 35.)
- Take Whitetop Rd (762 & 600) south for 11.2 miles.
- Continue straight onto Konnarock Rd (603) for 2.7 miles
- Turn left onto US-58 East for 5.8 miles.
- Turn right onto Whitetop Gap Rd (726) and continue for 1.5 miles. (There is a Creeper Trail Campground sign at this intersection. Do not turn onto an earlier intersection with 726 that goes towards Green Cove.)
- You will reach an intersection shaped like and “X.” Go across to the opposite side of the intersection to continue on Whitetop Gap Rd. (726)
- The campground will be on your right in 0.7 miles. (There is an Open flag at our driveway.)
Good Route from the South:
- Take I-77 North to the Hillsville Exit (Exit 14) in Virginia.
- Take US-58 West for 58.7 miles.
- Turn left onto Whitetop Gap Rd (726) and continue for 1.5 miles. (There is a Creeper Trail Campground sign at this intersection. )
- You will reach an intersection shaped like and “X.” Go across to the opposite side of the intersection to continue on Whitetop Gap Rd. (726)
- The campground will be on your right in 0.7 miles. (There is an Open flag at our driveway.)
