Amenity: Virginia Creeper Trail

The campground is 100 feet from the terminus of the Virginia Creeper Trail in Whitetop, Virginia. Most campers bike downhill 17 miles from Whitetop to Damascus, and then rent a shuttle back to Whitetop.

RV Site 3 (18 ft max)

RV Site 3 (18 ft max length RV/trailer) is on a ridge perched above the valley below.  No wifi or cell service at site.  RV site 3 has a private wooded area for you to enjoy behind the RV parking location.  RV Site 3 has 30 AMP and a water spigot. Tent campers are welcome to use RV sites.

Please note that the roads leading to our campground are curvy and not advised for pull-behind campers longer than 28 feet.  Pictures of the gravel road leading up to and from the RV camping area are attached in the site photo gallery.

RV Site 2 (20 ft max)

RV Site 2 (20 ft max length RV/trailer) is on a ridge perched above the surrounding valley.  Maximum trailer length for this site is 20 feet.  No wifi or cell service at site.  RV Site 2 features a private wooded area for you to enjoy that is behind the RV parking area.  RV Site 2 has 30 AMP and a water spigot.

Hillside Group site

Our 2024 group site rate is $8 per night per person.  At reservation, a $50 per night minimum deposit is due that will count towards the per person rate.

Our Hillside group site is in the primitive tent camping area.  It is mid-distance to the camp store and bath rooms.  It is sized to accommodate mid-sized Scout troops.  This site is primitive and does not have electric or water at the site.  This site fits 7-8 small tents and 3 vehicles.  Overflow parking near the store is available if you have extra vehicles.

 

Stableyard Group site

Our 2024 group site rate is $8 per night per person.  At reservation, a $50 per night minimum deposit is due that will count towards the per person rate.

Group sites are sized to accommodate more tents and cars than regular tent sites.   This site is perfect for larger Scout troops.  The Stableyard group site has a water spigot near the site.  This site fits 10-12 tents and 4 vehicles.  Overflow parking near the store is available if you have extra vehicles.  Please carpooling.

The Stableyard group site is located around an empty horse barn.  The area is a very close walk to the camp store and bathrooms.

Ridge Tent Site

The Ridge tent site is on our ridge area near the RVs and nestled in the woods.  This is a primitive tent site without water spouts or electric hookups.  Sites include space for parking one car and pitching one big family sized tent, or two smaller tents.

Electric Tent Site 1

Electric Tent Site 1 is on a ridge with 180 degree views of the surrounding valley.   This site offers 2 120 Volt plugs for running your electronics and also access to a water spigot at your site.

ET-1 has the shortest walk to the bathhouse of any of the ridge camping sites.

RV Site 1 (24 ft max)

RV Site 1 (24 ft max length RV/trailer) features 180 degree views of the surrounding valley below.  No wifi or cell service at site. RV Site 1 has 30 AMP service and a water spigot. Tent campers are welcome to use RV sites.
