Escape to the mountains and get back to nature

We offer our guests a quiet, relaxing escape from the modern world.  You can expect a true back-to-nature camping experience with modern amenities.  Our venue is small and very remotely located in the Grayson Highlands of Virginia.  You’ll be able to see the Milky Way at night, hear coyotes and wild turkeys, see bees, butterflies, and bunnies in abundance.  We have been family-owned for over 25 years and lovingly maintain our property where we garden, keep chickens and work on sustainable living.   On the weekends we run the Achy Bum Cafe which offers espresso coffees, breakfast sandwiches on homemade bread or biscuits, and gourmet pizzas on Saturday nights.

Our retreat is located in the mountains at 3534 ft elevation in Grayson Highlands.  Our parents owned and operated Mountain Meadows Christmas Tree Farm here for over 40 years. Our generation operates as Grayson Highlands Homestead, working towards sustainable living and regenerative farming with our gardens, chickens, and pet rabbits.

Escape the summer heat (our summers temperatures rarely get into the 80s!) and enjoy some of the most beautiful outdoor recreation sites in Virginia. These include hiking above tree-line to see the wild ponies in the Grayson Highlands and visiting the two highest peaks in Virginia (Mt. Rogers 5728′ and Whitetop Mtn. 5518′). The area also offers top-10 rated trout and fly-fishing streams.
